Pear Health Labs creates personalized fitness software using its patented AI technology. In 2021, Pear acquired Aaptiv to strengthen its consumer offering. Today, Aaptiv has a strong presence in B2C and B2B2C markets.

Aaptiv provides world-class content and products to help members achieve their goals. Aaptiv’s members can access several thousand audio-based classes across over a dozen categories, including running, strength training, yoga, and sleep. Aaptiv’s classes have been taken over 35 million times since the company’s launch.

Aaptiv’s recent product launch introduced Pear’s Training Intelligence platform to create personalized fitness plans that adapt to a user’s fitness journey.

At Aaptiv, I am responsible for our B2C and Enterprise B2B solutions. With that, I am responsible for understanding end users and enterprise administrators' needs and wants. I prioritize product opportunities for both markets, identify consumer growth strategies, and partner with business development teams to successfully sell into the Enterprise market.

  • The Fitness Network is a new feature offered to Aaptiv’s B2B2C users. Enterprise customers, such as employers, can offer the Fitness Network as a benefit to their employees, giving them access to 25k fitness facilities nationwide.

    Pear is partnering with Optum, a subsidiary of United Health Group, to license access to the facilities.

    Launching to the B2B market in September 2023

    Primary KPIs:

    • number of users

    • number of active users (users with 1+ gym visits per month)

    My role:

    • Led technical partnership with Optum, collaborating to align on the initial product offering

    • Identify requirements for a new API and for ingesting Optum’s API

    • Partnered with engineering to implement a payments solution to enable a complex pricing model

  • Aaptiv offers a 7-day free trial to users that purchase an annual subscription. The conversion rate from free trial users to paid subscribers is not meeting targets. Aaptiv is updating the free trial experience to increase the paid subscriber conversion rate and our subscription revenue.

    The updated trial experience is going to market in Q3 2023.

    My role:

    • Performed data analysis, competitive research, and user research using surveys and interviews

    • Advocated for and implemented an experimentation-oriented launch process

    • Collaborated with the AI team to create a recommendation model

  • The dashboards enable Aaptiv buyers like HR Administrators to understand their members’ engagement and activity. The dashboards required integration of data from Pear’s data platform into Aaptiv’s platform as well as data migration.

    The dashboards are set to release Q3-2023.
